Volunteers

We are very fortunate to have a number of people who volunteer to help out in various ways at St Thomas' School.

Due to a legislative requirement, it is mandatory for all volunteers (including parents of St Thomas' students) to undergo student protection training. Brisbane Catholic Education has developed a training pa ckage to help facilitate this process.  There is a link to the online training below.  Once completed please complete the form at the end of the presentation and return it to the office.  Once we receive this we will be able to add you to our Volunteer Register.

Please also note, that anyone other than a parent, including Grandparents, will need a Volunteer Blue Card to volunteer at St Thomas'.  These can be obtained at no cost via the below link:

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at St Thomas' School

Each time you visit St Thomas’ School to work as a volunteer, you are required to sign in at the school office. The sign in book will record your name, time of arrival and registered volunteer number. For convenience, there is a separate sign on book in the school tuckshop.

In responding to the Queensland Legislative requirements regarding Student Protection and Volunteer Training, we are mindful that becoming a volunteer in a school is now a complex process. Volunteers are highly valued here at St Thomas’ and your role in helping at school is a very critical one to our daily life and the provision of high quality education to students.  Please continue to volunteer within our community. The students benefit enormously and the staff appreciate and value your contribution. We all commend the many skills and incredible energy you give us as a volunteer.
