THANK YOU to all of the families and staff who have made donations to Project
Compassion during this Lenten season bringing the theme to life (“Aspire not to have more,
but to BE MORE.” St. Oscar Romero). Thank you also to our Social Justice Student Ministry
for their leadership with this project.
We have raised a grand total of $2,213! Our community has certainly demonstrated
acting with justice by being neighbour to all. Pope Francis writes, “Jesus asks us not to
decide who is close enough to be our neighbour, but rather that we ourselves become
neighbours to all.” (Fratelli Tutti, No. 80). Today we were hoping to collect the remainder of
the small Project Compassion boxes that were sent home earlier this term however due to
the lockdown we are now encouraging families to continue to fill these over the holidays
and return them in Week 1 of next term. Hopefully we will then be able to achieve our goal
of $2600 (the amount required to fund two water tanks for a school in the Solomon
Islands). Thank you again for your support.
