​On Monday last week at the Principal Leadership Forum, each school received a beautiful canvas of the Uluru Statement from the Heart. The Uluru Statement from the Heart is an invitation to the Australian people. First Nations People ask Australians to accept their invitation to walk with them in a movement of the Australian people for a better future. First Nations People call for the establishment of a First Nations Voice enshrined in the Constitution and a Makarrata Commission to supervise a process of agreement-making and truth-telling about our history. This statement has been publicly endorsed by Archbishop Mark Coleridge. The new government has also said that it will fully endorse the Uluru Statement from the Heart. This canvas was presented to the school community today as we continue to celebrate National Reconciliation Week.
