Commencing my role as Principal during Term 4 provided me with a unique opportunity to experience our school with fresh eyes during a time where our staff and students are continuing to reap the benefits of the well-established foundations and routines they have implemented throughout the school year.
In my short time at St Thomas’, I have been continuously impressed by many elements which I believe make St Thomas’ stand out as such a great school community. Below are just some of the things I noticed in my first week as St Thomas’:
- The strong sense of community.
- Strong focus on learning and students reaching their full potential.
- Every child is known.
- Our older students look out for our younger students.
- The leadership of our Year 6 students in all areas of school life.
- Dedicated and professional staff with a commitment to the vocation of teaching.
- An engaged and welcoming parent body.
- A deep connection to the school’s rich history and charism.
- Every child is eager to come to school and proud to be a St Thomas’ student.
- A variety of extra-curricular activities on offer.
